tangle と twist の違い
tangleは物が絡まってしまった状態を指します。特に、糸や髪の毛などが複雑に絡み合った時によく使われます。一方で、twistは物を捻じることを意味し、絡まるというよりも形を変えるイメージがあります。つまり、tangleは絡まった状態、twistは捻じった状態という違いがあります。

tangle と knot の違い
knotは結び目や結束された状態を指します。例えば、ロープや紐を結んだ時の形です。対して、tangleは単に絡まり合っている状態で、必ずしも結び目になっているわけではありません。言い換えれば、全てのknotはtangleですが、全てのtangleがknotではないということです。

messは散らかった状態や混乱した状況を広く指します。一方で、tangleは特に物が絡まった状態に焦点を当てています。つまり、全てのtangleはある種のmessですが、全てのmessが必ずしも絡まった状態とは限りません。
